How to get there

HOW TO GET THERE

From downtown Bariloche:

Bus. The company Via Bariloche hat heads to El Bolsón, get off at Km. 2016, entrance to the Baqueanos Campground. Walk along the car entrance to the campground or back along the paved road to the edge of the lake to the trailhead.

By car. Take route 40 up to km 2015 and park on the side road where the trailhead is or continue 1 km. to the entrance to Baqueanos Campground, and continue on to the main area. Here you must pay for the parking.

  • Watch out for cars if walking back along the road.
  • Camping and fires are not allowed at the Muñoz Beach.
  • Take plenty water.

DESCRIPTION

You can access the trail right at km 2015 at the end of the Gutierrez Lake or enter the Baqueanos campground to the edge of the lake, continue round for a few hundred meters, then the trail goes into the forest. It contours around the lake for 7 km. to Muñoz Beach.

Follow the same trail back or continue on and up towards Villa Los Coihues, another 9 km.

To improve the trekking experience, it is recommended to contact a Mountain Guide authorized by the AAGM (Argentine Association of Mountain Guides)
